If you thought you hit the jackpot when you found a Kia Telluride at your local Kia dealer, you’re going to love the new Kia EV9.
It’s a new SUV that is getting ready to take families by storm. But unlike the Telluride’s gas engine, it’s completely electric.
What Does It Look Like Inside?
One thing that makes the Kia EV9 stand out is its completely flat floor. There’s no backseat hump to maneuver your legs around. Everyone in this SUV gets a good seat with lots of legroom, and with three rows, this is a big deal. As we’ve come to expect when we shop at a Kia dealer, the EV9 will have lots of features in the cabin. Expect comfortable front seats with heating and ventilation, and you can even get heat and ventilation for the second-row captain’s chairs. If you choose one of the higher trims, a massaging function for the driver’s seat is also available.
Rear-seat passengers get lots of good stuff in this new Kia. The Relaxation Mode seating, when activated, gives them power leg rests to help them find the perfect position for those long family trips.
How Far Can It Go?
The Kia EV9’s lineup starts with the standard setup with a single electric motor with 215 horsepower. You’ll get rear-wheel drive with this and the optional long-range version. Which, by the way, delivers 201 horsepower. If you want to bump up the power, a dual-motor EV9 is available. Not only does this deliver 379 horsepower, it also has all-wheel drive.
Now that we’ve talked about power, we can talk about range. The single-motor setup with the long-range battery will go up to 300 miles on a full charge.
Innovative Storage
This is an electric vehicle, so there’s a frunk instead of an engine under the hood, but the real news is the floating center console. Passengers in the second row have access to a handle that sits in the back of the front center console. If they pull it, a small tray table will appear, and then under that, there’s a huge storage compartment
Infotainment at Your Service
Two 12.3-inch screens sit at the front of the EV9. The one in the center of the dashboard is a touchscreen for the infotainment system, and the other is a digital driver information display. You won’t find any physical knobs to twist and turn, but there are fewer buttons than you’re used to seeing, so it’s easy to use. The EV9 will be the first to have Kia’s next-generation infotainment system.
A New Trim Lineup for a New SUV
The all-new Kia EV9 is making its way to Kia dealers soon. It will be available in five different trim levels with all new names for the Kia lineup. You can choose from the Light, Light Long, Range, Wind, Land, and the GT-Line.
