Jeep Honors the Military with a Limited-Edition Freedom Package

The 2023 versions of the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler will offer a special limited-edition Freedom Package to salute the military.

Jeep has a long history and reputation with the United States military. If fact, if it weren’t for the military and their acronyms for everything, we wouldn’t have the Jeep brand at all. It might still be Willys or another name, but ever since the first Wrangler, called the Willys General Purpose, was shortened to GP, which created the Jeep sound, the name was born. Let’s take a look at how Jeep honors the military with these special models.

What Does the Freedom Package Include

The Gladiator and Wrangler will enjoy special packaging with the Freedom Package is chosen for 2023 models. This package delivers a military-themed exterior and interior design, including Oscar Mike badges and an American flag decal. Jeep will make a $250 donation to military charities for each model sold wearing the Freedom Package on it. This is more than enough reason for every Gladiator and Wrangler from the 2023 model year to wear this garb and help those charities. Talk about a true patriotic effort.

Is the Freedom Package Only Offered for a Limited Time?

Right now, we know the orders for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler wearing the Freedom Package is a limited-time offer. Likely, if the call for this package grows, so will its availability. In addition to the themed features that give these off-road brutes, the military look desired, each model will have a winch-capable steel front bumper and steel rock rails. This means these vehicles are ready to take on the wilderness and deliver the fun while also supporting the troops that continually fight to protect our freedom while putting themselves in harm’s way.

What You’ll Find in These Off-Road Jeeps

The Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator are both made for some serious off-road fun. These vehicles are designed to go where other SUVs and crossovers can’t. the Wrangler is the most off-road-ready SUV in the market, and it has been for many years. The Gladiator takes the Wrangler goodness and adds a truck bed to the rear to be the midsize pickup that can go where other models don’t dare. Both vehicles give you the open-air qualities you want with removable roof panels and doors to give you the feeling of being part of your environment during your time on the trails.

Looking at the Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most iconic vehicles in the market. This model, as mentioned, dates back to the start of World War II, when the US Army needed a vehicle made for the rough terrain in Europe. Somewhere along the way, the perfect build for trail-riding was found in this short-body, short-wheelbase SUV that can handle the toughest terrain. The solid axles give this SUV the go-everywhere feeling needed, and the ground clearance makes it possible to forget you even saw a tree stump or rock in your path.

This Jeep Delivers Way of Life

When you see a wheel cover on a Wrangler that reads, “It’s a Jeep Thing, You Wouldn’t Understand” or anything along those lines, Wrangler owners mean it. Before the Gladiator came along, the Jeep Wrangler was the only model that created such a serious following. The Wrangler way of life is celebrated every year with a Jeep Easter visit to Moab, Utah, but there are many Jeep clubs around the country with Wrangler owners that get together to have some serious fun out on the trails together.

So Many Configurations

From the basic Sport model on up to the incredible Rubicon version, the Jeep Wrangler offers various ways you can have the drive you’re after. This SUV is such a phenomenon in the market that there are more accessories to upgrade your Wrangler than any other vehicle. This means you can find the right gear and have a Jeep Wrangler that’s unique to you and what you like to do with it. Add some lights, a winch, some interesting graphics, or specialized items made for the trails you like to enjoy. These things are available for your Wrangler.

Checking Out the Jeep Gladiator

The Gladiator entered the market just a few years ago, giving us the only midsize truck with a detachable roof and doors. Those are important features for a truck that delivers on the promise of some serious Jeep fun in the wilderness. The Gladiator has a 5-foot truck bed to make it a worthy work vehicle. You can carry up to 1,650 pounds in this bed, which is pretty good when you’re heading to the jobsite with a load of materials. If you want to climb some rocks, go for the Rubicon model and see where this truck will take you.

The Right Suspension Makes a Huge Difference

Jeep wasn’t stubborn about the suspension for the Gladiator. The Rubicon and Mojave models come equipped with Fox components, giving this impressive truck the wheel articulation needed to climb over some serious boulders that are in the path. This added benefit could sway you toward the Jeep Gladiator and away from the Wrangler when looking for the right off-road vehicle to drive. You’ll also admire the three-position tailgate on the back, which allows you to manage the load you’re carrying a little better than if it only had open and closed settings.

Which Jeep Will You Buy?

If this is the year you will buy a new Jeep for some amazing off-road fun, which model will it be? Are you going with the classic Jeep Wrangler or the truck form of the Jeep Gladiator? We can assume you’ll add the Freedom Package to your Jeep to make sure a donation is made and you have a vehicle that looks amazing when you take it out for a drive.

Your freedom on the trails of America awaits you. All you need to do is visit your nearby Jeep dealer and ask them to make the donation to those that defend your freedom. This can be done with the purchase of this special package on two impressive off-road vehicles.
