As the current leader in full size sport utility vehicles Ford has unveiled at the Dallas-Fort Worth Auto Show a new look and feel on an old friend. The 2015 Ford Expedition is a beautiful vehicle with a ton of cargo and person space as always, but now features the advanced technology car buyers are looking for these days.
Now offering a platinum series of the Expedition, this beast of a sport utility truck offers blind spot information system, cross traffic alert and SYNC with MyFordTouch on the touch screen information system. To go along with this the Expedition brings the same fuel efficiency and power in the engine that is now found in many of the F-Series model full size trucks. This 3.5 liter Ecoboost driven engine gives the Expedition everything an owner desires in power and fuel economy from a full size truck, but in a sport utility vehicle.
Continuing the long tradition of the full third row of seats, the Expedition, which has been around since 1996, still brings the largest amount of space for people and stuff to get around, haul to the jobsites, or take a long vacation. Even though this beast is not classified as a luxury vehicle by any definition, it does offer an independent rear suspension to ensure your valuables, especially your passengers, ride in comfort throughout the journey.
Adding to the suspension is the new electric power-assisted steering, giving the driver better road feedback and allowing a level of control you would never expect from such a large truck. With three different drive models, the XLT, Limited, and Platinum, the Expedition offers a choice of vehicle and options any owner will be proud to park in their garage.
Inside this mammoth of a vehicle, the driver and passenger get to ride in comfort and style. As mentioned there is the touch screen eight inch information system with MyFordTouch built in and two 4.2 inch LCD driver information screens in the instrument cluster, making the driver feel as if they have the most advanced vehicle around. If you love you sound, the Expedition is no slouch here either. Offering a 700-watt 10-speaker Sony Audio system, your music will sound as if you are at the concert right next to the stage.
As if all this technology inside wasn’t enough the Expedition brings a push button start system into the package, a rear view camera that will display on the eight inch screen, and ambient lighting throughout the vehicle, ensuring you and your crew have a fantastic ride.
If three models were not enough to satisfy your needs, the Ford team will reveal an all new King Ranch edition of the expedition later this year that is sure to be a stunner as well. No doubt the engineers at Ford want to keep that top trophy for themselves and have continued to make a fantastic vehicle in the Ford Expedition. Look out GM and Chrysler, this one is going to be hard to beat.
