Do you want to avoid buying a crappy car? Of course, you do! Keep reading to find out which three cars to avoid at all costs.
Good Eggs and Bad Eggs
There are good used cars at reputable used car lots out there; you just have to know what you are looking for. First, start with a list of car brands that you know are reliable. That list might include Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, and Subaru. These car brands are trusted.
Second, make a list of car brands that don’t have such great reputations. Remember, this is for used cars, not new ones. Typically, you don’t want to buy a used Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, or Buick.
2016 Cadillac ELR
If you could buy this car new, maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Sadly, the 2016 Cadillac ELR is just not worth your money. It has a nice cabin and good fuel economy, but that’s just about it. The engine has an unpleasant sound to it, and overall the car is underwhelming. When it comes to reliability, this car falls short, as does most Cadillacs. If you find this one at a used car lot dealer, you should pass it by.
2015 Nissan Titan
The 2015 Nissan Titan is a used truck that should be avoided. The problem is not that the truck is very small but that it is very weak. With terrible fuel economy, the Titan does not have much to offer other than its decent handling. Trucks usually have satisfactory towing and hauling capabilities, but the 2015 Titan falls short in both departments. Plus, the standard Nissan Titan does not come with many additional features. There are better-used trucks out there. Keep searching.
2016 Jeep Patriot
Even though this car does well off the road, it’s not a car you should consider buying. With poor fuel economy and lackluster features, there is nothing special about the 2016 Jeep Patriot. The AWD is a plus, but the engine’s power is not enough to make up the difference. The uncomfortable cabin can’t be overlooked. Plus, buying a used Jeep is always a risk, considering they need constant maintenance. If you come across a used Jeep Patriot, keep on looking.
