Beyond the Multipla: 7 Cars Even Uglier Than the Fiat

The Fiat Multipla is considered one of the ugliest cars ever made. That said, there might be a few cars that look even stranger and uglier than this little Fiat.

When you look at the Multipla, you see a strange bubble on the front of the windshield, which makes this look extremely strange. Toss in the acres of glass and the short nose, and you’ve got a car that’s truly ugly. The design of this car shouldn’t have passed to the point of allowing production, but it did.

Still, there are cars that are uglier than the Fiat Multipla, and here are a few of them.

Marcos Mantis M70

The front end of the Macros Mantis M70 looks good and could have been part of an impressive sports car, but this model is extremely ugly. Strangely, Marcos is known for building ugly cars such as the Xylon and Mantis XP, but the M70 is probably the ugliest of the bunch. The bumpers are awkward, the lines are terrible, and the rear looks more like an American 1970s coupe than a low-slung sports car. Although ugly, the Mantis M70 was a little ahead of its time.

Consulier GTP

The ugliness of this car covers up the glorious features found underneath. The Consulier GTP is certainly uglier than the Fiat Multipla, but that is where the similarities end. This car is lightweight and has a good engine to give it the desired performance. The 2.2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produced 175 horsepower, which is more than enough for a car that only weighs 2,200 pounds. This makes the Consulier GTP a desirable car to take out on the road for some fun while turning heads in an ugly car.

Messerschmitt KR200

You don’t expect a German brand to build something ugly, but they did. The Messerschmitt KR200 is a tiny car that fits on tight European streets, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense. If you’re looking for the tiny car that came before Smart made theirs, this is it. The KR200 is extremely ugly, but it was practical for the time. This little machine has a 10-horsepower engine that allows it to reach a top speed of 40 mph. Basically, this is a scooter with a roof, which it mostly is, and it’s also extremely ugly.

Glenfrome Facet

There’s no denying that the Glenfrome Facet is uglier than the Fiat Multipla. This car was extremely hideous and had nothing going for it to keep it in the market. The goal was to make a shell for the Range Rover to attract rich Middle Eastern customers. This was simply solving a nonexistent problem. The Range Rover was perfect the way it was. The Glefrome Facet was so bad that only 50 were sold.

Nissan S-Cargo

There are dogs in the world that are so ugly they are cute, and the same rules apply to the Nissan S-Cargo. This tiny cargo van is extremely practical for delivering materials around Japan. This little cargo van was the perfect fit for the Pike Project, which makes it a good choice for some companies. Still, this vehicle looks a lot like an overgrown snail on wheels. It was somewhat cute but extremely ugly, making it a vehicle that you wouldn’t see outside of Japan.

Youabian Puma

Everything about the Youabian Puma makes it uglier than the Fiat Multipla. This car brings terrible design elements and looks like it could have been much longer and sportier. If you’re looking for a car design that should have ended up in the trash, this is one of them. One of the saving graces of this car is the LS7 engine from GM, which means a good engine was wasted on a terrible car. The overall build makes the Puma one of the biggest cars in the market, which also weighs in at 6,800 pounds, which is way too much.

Sbarro Autobau

There’s a lot going on with this car that shouldn’t be happening. You might not want to buy this car if it were in a Hot Wheels package. Thankfully, this car never made it past the concept stage, which is all the farther most of these cars should have gone. The design is extremely ugly, but it somehow made its way to the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The only good thing about this car is the Ferrari V12 engine under the hood.

These seven cars are uglier than the Fiat Multipla, which is still one of the ugliest cars to ever make it off the production line.
