Cadillac, a company known for luxury, innovation, and prestige, will introduce their new vehicle at the New York Auto Show. The Cadillac CT6 will be a full-sized luxury sedan, which will bring the Cadillac badge back into the spotlight. The Escalade has been the crown jewel for Cadillac in past years, but the CT6 is shaping up to give Cadillac a new shining star in its luxury lineup of superior vehicles. CT6 is edgy and angular, preparing to compete with competitors such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
Estimated MSRP for the 2016 Cadillac CT6 is around the $70,000 mark ranging up to $110,000 and sport an aluminum heavy structure for the body. The new flagship vehicle is expected to go on sale in late 2015 as a 2016 model for Cadillac. The Omega, an all new rear-drive vehicle architecture will be used as the frame for the CT6. CT6 has been in development since 2012 and GM is excited to have a new flagship vehicle for Cadillac, which hasn’t occurred in three years.
CT6 will officially be unveiled on March 31st, 2015 at the New York Auto Show. Some of the notable features that have been released so far on the CT6 include: exceptional ride and handling, class-leading noise, vibration, and harshness levels, exquisite materials and build including vast interior trim and color configurations, unique powertrain featuring a hybrid V6, twin-turbo V6, and new variant of a V8, reclining and massaging rear seats, heated steering wheel, headrest, and armrest, Onstar 4G LTE connectivity, magnetic ride control, camera based rearview mirror, and massage chairs.
The 2016 CT6 will feature three trim levels: Premium, Luxury, and Platinum, with a possible vSport model likely. Engines that will be available for the CT6 include Plug-in Hybrid V6 (achieving over 70 MPGe, 3.6L Twin-Turbo V6 LF3 with 450 HP, and a new (possibly supercharged) V8. The 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission is likely the transmission that will be equipped on the CT6 and possibly a ten speed version will be expected in later model revisions.
Although these are educated speculations on what the Cadillac CT6 will offer for 2016, we will have to wait for the official unveiling to know for sure what the full-sized luxury sedan will truly be able to come equipped with. GM will unveil the specs and features along with the vehicle at the New York Auto Show at the end of the month, and CT6 is sure to awe and inspire even the most picky of drivers.
