For many drivers, the name Ford Mustang continues to conjure up visions of a muscle car equipped with eardrum-rattling engines, and more horsepower than you know what to do with. The latest Ford Mustang, however, paints a complete 180 of that image.
The latest Ford Mustang models are almost unrecognizable after their recent metamorphosis. Instead of an eye-catching appeal and ear-popping performance, the Ford Mustang has transformed into a compact SUV that lends itself well as the perfect family vehicle. Who knew this would be the path Mustang would go on?
Luckily, Ford doesn’t take away the dependable power of a Mustang. Drivers can still look forward to exceptional power and performance, all underneath the body style of a compact SUV.
Mustang Mach-E Rally Is Making Waves
The automaker’s latest release, the Mustang Mach-E Rally is Ford’s first attempt at an off-road design for the Mustang. While it’s hard to put the Rally in a class all its own, the Mach-E Rally is essentially an updated trim offering of the Mach-E Lineup.
Currently, the Mach-E is offered in five different versions available at your local Ford dealer. They include the Select, Premium, California Route 1, GT, and GT Performance Edition. There are three variations available in the European market and five variations available in the Chinese market.
Here’s What to Expect With the Mach-E Rally
The automaker hasn’t revealed much in terms of specs and performance with the all-new Mach-E Rally. However, recently released photos from the automaker don’t appear to show much of a change overall (as expected). However, the body style of the Mach-E Rally touts new wheels and a rear spoiler. Everything else stays relatively the same and you’ll still get to experience the all-new body style of the reimagined Mustang.
Power offerings have also been pretty hush-hush, but experts detail the Rally will likely be equipped with a motor similar to the Mustang Mach-E GT’s Performance Edition package. This package touts familiar Mustang power of 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. There’s also a pretty decent mile range estimate of 270 on a full charge.
Mustang’s Vision for Change
The Mach-E Rally is the latest introduction to the Mustang’s electrified offering. According to analysts, drivers have been hesitant to make the switch over to the electrified Mustang as sales have dipped slightly since its first release. According to Business Insider, sales for the electrified Mustang dropped 27.7% in the second quarter of 2023 as compared to the same time the year before.
