General Motors officially announced the release of a brand new 2022 Chevrolet Cruze. In fact, there are two new options that are building excitement all over the world. Drivers in Brazil and Argentina will soon be able to grab a Chevrolet Cruze RS or Midnight Edition. These trims have never been released as standalone trim options before. It’s an exciting time to shop for a Cruze.

The Exclusive Midnight Edition

The 2022 Chevy Cruze Midnight Edition is a unique way for drivers to show off their dark sides. This may be the most modern touch this nameplate has ever received. It comes with an overall blacked-out finish that really makes this car stand out.

Drivers who aren’t as interested in a black vehicle can choose between two other metallic colors: Eclipse Blue and Satin Steel Grey. The idea of having optional colors for a Midnight Edition is a new concept, but shoppers seem to love it.

Inside, the Midnight Edition uses the same blackout concept with a mixture of gray accents to adorn the cabin. You’ll also see a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment center that features a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar services, and more.

There is an emotional appeal associated with driving a premium sedan like the Cruze midnight edition. While this version isn’t the highest-level trim in the Cruze lineup, it offers a mix of sophistication with practicality.

The RS Lineup

The new Chevrolet Cruze RS is meant to accentuate the sporty features of this popular vehicle. If you go with the hatchback version, you’ll love the two-tone body color scheme that comes with a black roof and black mirrors.

The aggressive dark chrome grille is enough to make people stop and stare. Don’t be fooled, though. These new features aren’t just for aesthetics. They’ll also help enhance this vehicle’s aerodynamic abilities.

Same But Different

The Chevrolet Cruze RS and Midnight Edition are now only available in Brazil and Argentina. The goal is to help make this a more desirable vehicle across South America. The new look and feel are only skin deep, however. The Chevy Cruze will retain all of the mechanical and technological configurations as the rest of the editions that come out of the Alvear Plant in Argentina.

The Cruze is loaded with the well-loved 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that offers 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with some impressive safety and tech features.

With the reception of the new RS and Midnight Edition models in South America, it may only be a matter of time before these cars come back to North America. It may seem like SUVs are all the craze right now, but there will always be room for a fuel-efficient sedan or hatchback.

There aren’t any plans to bring the Midnight Edition back to the U.S., but it’s only a matter of time before drivers start demanding the newest Chevrolet Cruze.
