When you think of off-road SUVs, the Jeep Wrangler is usually the first to come to mind. This iconic trail rider continues on for 2025 with a strong presence.
Regardless of trim, the Wrangler has been one of the most capable and impressive off-road SUVs to ever come into existence. Born out of need during World War II, this incredible vehicle continues to have much of the same qualities as the first models that were used by the US Army in Europe and Asia. What’s new for this Jeep?
Although most automakers have already ditched their V8 engines, the Wrangler 392 continues for one more year to give us the most powerful version of this SUV to ever come down the line. The new V8 model no longer has the Mopar triple loop grille guard and Mopar Jeep 83-piece toolkit, but otherwise, it’s basically the same vehicle.
Everything else from the 2024 Wrangler carries over unchanged, making this a year in which Jeep doesn’t change the Wrangler much but could for the 2026 version.
Four great powertrain options
The Jeep Wrangler has four choices when it comes to the powertrain. Unlike some older versions that only had the Pentastar V6, the 2025 model will carry on with four choices for shoppers to find the right version. The PHEV 4xe model is the most popular powertrain choice, making up almost 40% of the sales, which means shoppers are willing to take a hybrid SUV out on the trails.
