MotorTrend gives it a 9 out of 10 in the overall rankings, and it’s worth noting that the previous models for 2019 and 2021 beat out rivals to get the MotorTrend truck of the year award. The Ram 1500 starts at around $29,515 and goes up to about $64,395. Its most notable features include a luxurious and comfortable interior with plenty of modern tech. Engine choices vary by trim and include several V6 and V8 options. In the subcategories, the Ram 1500 got an 8.2 score for performance, 7.6 for fuel efficiency, 9.3 for tech, and a solid 8 for value.

In the HD truck segment, the 2022 Ram 2500 comes out on top with a 9.1 score out of 10. Like the 1500, the Ram 2500 features a well-designed and luxurious interior with lots of tech. The other two top features include off-road ability and some great engine options. Another positive for the Ram 2500 is that it costs less than its rivals in the same category. HD trucks aren’t always known for having smooth rides, but the Ram 2500 manages to change that trend with its well-tuned suspension. Despite all the good notes about the Ram 2500, MotorTrend does note that the diesel transmission is somewhat outdated. Finally, we have the winner of the HD dually truck category with the 2022 Ram 3500. This truck garners a score of 8.8 out of 10, and MotorTrend gives it top marks for its excellent ride quality and energetic engines. Another great feature of this Ram truck is the affordable price tag between $39,325 and $71,825, which is cheaper than some of its rivals. The 3500 doesn’t lack tech either. It comes with the same 12-inch touchscreen that is available with the 1500. The main flaws include the limited six-speed automatic transmission for the diesel engine and the fact that the diesel truck is a bit slower than its rivals. However, the Ram 3500 still scores well in the subcategories with an 8 out of 10 for performance, 9.3 for tech, and 9 for value. The fuel efficiency score is the same as the 2500.
