After vacating the mid-sized truck market for a few years, Chevrolet has come back with a new Colorado that is a stronger and more fuel efficient offering than ever before. This highly capable and enjoyable truck shows up with a size that fits into any garage, the versatility of having an Extended Cab or Crew Cab, rear or four-wheel drive, and a five or six-foot bed make the Colorado a truck that has an option for just about any truck lover to find the right choice. Leading the way in towing capacity in this class, the Colorado offers towing capacity of 7,000 pounds giving owners a leg up on the competition when hauling the workload or the fun toys.
Offering a better fuel efficiency along with more refinement than the competition gives a hint as to why Chevrolet had gone away from the mid-sized truck segment for a few years. The all-new Colorado comes in ready to lead the way in this segment and make a statement to the competition that Chevrolet is once again the leader in this market.
The driving impression of the Colorado offers a highly refined suspension that offers plenty of confidence and control on and off the road. This along with a highly responsive steering system allow the Colorado to be one of the most agile and capable trucks on the road. In addition to the excellent capability, the Colorado shows up with a very quiet cabin, making it easy to enjoy musical selections chosen by the occupants of the truck. Tech lovers will also enjoy this choice of trucks by connecting to the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot that is made possible through the 4G LTE connectivity through the GM OnStar system.
The all-new Colorado is offered with a choice of two engines and two transmissions. Either engine can be fitted with four-wheel drive making a fully capable vehicle available for anyone who is heading off road in this excellent new offering from Chevrolet.
The first engine shows up as 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that offers 200 horsepower and 191 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine when paired with the six-speed manual transmission offers a fuel efficiency of 19 city/26 hwy mpg and a 20 city/27 hwy mpg when mated to the six-speed automatic transmission both in 2WD settings.
The second engine that can be had, and the one that is more preferable for off road enjoyment, is the 3.6-liter V6 engine that brings in 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is only mated up with the six-speed automatic transmission and shows up with a fuel efficiency of 18 city/26 hwy mpg. Seeing these numbers shows the drop off from the smaller engine to the larger one for fuel efficiency is not much at all making the larger and more powerful option the engine of choice for this truck.
The interior of the Colorado is durable and rugged as well as full of great features and connectivity. This makes this truck one that can be enjoyed while on the jobsite as the interior will not get destroyed by a work crew and be one that is appropriate for cleaning up and heading out for a night on the town. Add the quiet cab and the spacious rear area when the Crew Cab is chosen and the Colorado is easily head and shoulders above the competition. The interior alone could be enough to make any truck lover fall in love with the Colorado as it is full of awesome comfort features and materials that are enjoyable and pampering.
On the outside, the Colorado appears to be a smaller version of the Silverado. With a large grill adorned with the Chevrolet bowtie symbol as well as some interesting exterior features such as the CornerStep rear bumper, the truck is built to help anyone get the job done, or load up for fun. In addition to great features, the Colorado shows off with a very athletic and imposing stance that allows it to be seen as a fun truck to ride in as well as one that is easily a vehicle that is built for work. The finishing touch of the exterior is the 17-inch aluminum wheels that are heavily spoked and add a look of strength to the vehicle.
