As we wait for the new Ford Ranger, some have gone onto the Ford website and found they can configure a Ford Ranger the desire.
Unfortunately, the Ford team has stated that none of what’s found at this moment is completely accurate because they are still working out the pricing details. Even so, the fact that we can figure out some of the trims and packages makes it even more exciting to anticipate what this new truck will be when it arrives.
Adding More for the Ride
The base model of the new Ford Ranger will be the XL trim. This trim can be upgraded with an STX Appearance Package that offers you 17-inch wheels and fog lights to give you more of what you want on the road. If you choose option package 101A you can have cruise control, power mirrors, and the SYNC infotainment system. These two packages might be what you’re looking for when you want an affordable midsize truck to drive that gives you a bit more than just the base offer when you head out on the road.
Moving to an Off-Road Ford Ranger
The FX4 model of the Ranger is where many of us are going to be interested in what this truck has for the drive. In order to reach this level, you do have to add the STX and 101A packages to the mix and then check the boxes for the FX4. This package is one that brings you the following items:
E-Locking Rear Axle
Exposed Front Tow Hooks
Exposed Steel Bash Plate
Off-Road Screen in Cluster
Off-Road Tuned Suspension
Front Air Dam Delete
Skid Plates for the Fuel Tank, Transfer Cases, and Front Differential
Terrain Management System
Trail Control
4×4 “FX4 Offroad” Bodyside Decal
Going to the Top
The top model offered for the Ranger will be the CrewCab Lariat which is packed with some amazing features. This trim has the FX4 package, the Sport Appearance Package, and the Trailer Tow package all included making sure you have an excellent drive. This version of the truck has leather upholstery to offer you the smooth comfort you’re looking for in either black o beige. You’re going to want to take this version of the truck out for a drive and play around with all the features offered for your driving enjoyment.
Powering the Ride of the Ford Ranger
Right now, there’s only one powertrain listed for the Ford Ranger. This powertrain begins with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that’s mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. While there’s no mention of a Raptor or a V6 Ranger on the Ford website yet, we do think these two models are going to be added in the future. Let’s get this new Ranger to market first and let this truck become the one we love to drive once again. Configure the one you want today and see if it will be the right truck for you to drive.
