Who makes the best EV trucks? The world is moving towards electric vehicles with each passing day, and GMC and Chevrolet are doing their best to compete in the race.

The most exciting news at the moment is the arrival of the all-new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado EVs. Like Ford with the Lightning F-150, GMC and Chevy are doing their best to design an all-electric truck that can hold a candle in today’s competitive contest to create the best EV to date. Although Chevy and GMC are owned by the same company, General Motors, they are still competing against each other. Both have created something special. Is one better than the other?

Keep reading to learn more about the latest installment of EV news and what these pickup trucks have to offer.

What Can We Expect from These EV Trucks

There is a lot of anticipation for these new electric pickup trucks. The Chevrolet Silverado EV will be the first to arrive on the scene in 2023. The first release will be the WT edition, which is to come out in the Spring of 2023. The full-fledged Silverado will be released in the Fall of 2023. In less than one year, people will be able to find these at the GMC dealer.

On the other hand, people will have to wait just a little bit longer for the GMC Sierra EV. The Sierra is set to arrive in early 2024. The release of the Sierra will see it arrive in its well-known edition, the Denali.

Build and Design

Just like the previous versions of these trucks, the new Sierra and Silverado will be somewhat similar. In terms of size and shape, they are almost identical. There are some key differences, though, that are important.

The Silverado’s grille is almost all but gone. With the switch to battery-powered, there is no need for an engine air-filtration system. Sierra has kept their grille in place, but only for design and personality. Both have a sense of innovative design and are extremely sleek looking.

Charging and Performance

In terms of charging, the Sierra and Silverado are very similar. Both trucks share the Ultium Battery Platform and can drive for up to 400 miles. Both can connect to DC fast charging, which is important for those looking for a quick charge to make sure they can keep working if needed.

Performance is the important thing. The GMC Sierra EV will be able to achieve 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. That’s not all. The Sierra will be able to tow up to 9,500 Lbs, but that is expected to be more when the car finally comes out.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV will be able to achieve the same amount of hp and torque as the Sierra. The difference is in towing capacity. The Silverado will be able to tow up to 10,000 lbs.

More EV Trucks to Come

There is still tons more to learn about these awesome trucks before they finally hit the market. Right now, we know they are powerful, hold a great charge, look amazing, and provide impeccable performance. Will you be the owner of one of these electric beasts?
