The Mercedes-Benz CLS is Ready to Hit the Road

The Mercedes-Benz CLS is Ready to Hit the Road

We love new cars. There’s something special and magical about the way a car is built when it first debuts. Regardless of whether it’s a redesign or a completely new model that we’ve never seen, the interest level in a new vehicle is extremely high. Not only are we looking to the new cars offered to see if they will be filled with the latest technology but we expect to see these new cars bring us the performance and quality that will allow them to set new standards in the market. New vehicles bring us a style that brings the interest and future level of what cars will look like.

The Reveal

During the development of most of the new vehicles we see on the test tracks and even on the open road, automakers tend to put camouflage on these new models before we get to see if they are going to offer us the look and feel we want. This is the time when we love to grab spy shots and see what the new vehicle is hinting at when it comes to the look and performance we’ll be able to enjoy.

One new car is nearly ready for its reveal. The new Mercedes-Benz CLS has been spied several times testing on the tracks and it has been wearing less and less camo in the process. We know this car will offer us a less sculpted appearance than what we’ve had in the past and it will be a car that has a more subdued feeling. Gone are the swooping body lines and pronounced wheel arches, but the shape of this car remains intact and able to give us a feeling and look that will be unmistakably one from this brand so that we can have the driving enjoyment we want.

Borrowing Everything

The new CLS will ride on a longer version of the MRA platform which is used in the E-Class. This car is a four-door coupe that will continue to share an engine range with the E-Class which means we’ll see the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a plug-in hybrid that uses the 2.0-liter turbo engine, a hybrid AMG model that will be called the CLS 53 AMG and the CLS63 which should see the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V9 under the hood. This complete engine lineup will give us the power and performance choices we want.

Inside the car, the CLS will continue to use many of the same features found in the E-Class and S-Class. This means we’ll have the dual-screen dashboard, the comfort of the seats, smooth features that make this a car that you want to drive and more. While we won’t see many surprises inside this car, which makes it a comfortable choice that’s familiar, this new look and style may be the future of what Mercedes-Benz has to offer us when we head out on the road.

This new Mercedes-Benz CLS is nearing its big debut which we can expect to be made at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. If there happen to be any delays or development needs that still haven’t been completed by this time, the next target for the debut would be at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
