While the Toyota Prius has been the punchline in many jokes it’s hardly a laughing matter when you consider the impressive fuel mileage and ability to be the right car for giving us a starting point for affordable hybrid powertrains. The Prius has been redesigned and is available to purchase, but there are many among us that aren’t looking at the Prius as our next great car but instead need something else to be the affordable daily driver with great gas mileage. Here are some of the alternatives that give you excellent fuel mileage and impressive styling to be the other models you can have instead of the Prius.

Chevrolet VoltThis car is popular and is heading into a new generation for 2017 to make it a restyled car that can be the right choice for you. Giving you up to 53 miles of driving on electricity only and an overall mpg of 42 when using the electric and the gasoline engine you can enjoy the ride and the style of the Volt over the Prius.

Nissan LeafThere are two options for the Leaf and if you have the driving life that can deal with the 107 mile range of a vehicle that is only powered by electricity this is the car you can choose over the Prius. There is plenty of space inside the car for you and your passengers and it comes in at a price that you will love to drive and offers you a good amount of power from a small engine.

Volkswagen Jetta HybridWith 42 mpg in the city and 48 on the highway you will have a great fuel mileage to enjoy with the right amount of power from the small engine under the hood of this car. The Jetta has been one of the most impressive cars on the road for several years.

Lexus CT200hA luxury hatchback can be one of the best solutions for you and this one gives you 43 city/40 hwy mpg for you to enjoy.
