2015 Chevrolet Express

Well known as a great choice to get a team of people or a large amount of work materials from one location to another, the Chevrolet Express offers a lot of options and versatility for a large crowd to enjoy. With the largest hauling power in the market the Express offers more bang for the buck and has the capability of being one of the best vans for work, family or an organization. Having been on the market for a long time the Express has a lot of aftermarket upfitting options to enjoy in order suiting the needs of any industry or business.

As a traditional van that offers the longevity of durability and a market proven reputation the Express makes a fantastic choice. In a market where taller profiles are more prevalent the Express still has the profile to fit into many parking garages and handle a majority of the “normal” height clearances. For 2015 the Express only has minimal changes including an upgraded sound system with auxiliary ports, a 110-volt outlet, side-cut keys, LED lighting and a couple new colors all designed to make even the work model of the Express more enjoyable.

DePaula Chevrolet tells us that driving the Express is exactly what is expected of this large van giving owners the opportunity to enjoy the cargo and passenger capacity. The stability and suspension have been upgraded along with the steering systems to give the Express and improved control and feel when driving or riding inside. These upgrades along with the versatility lend credence to the opinion that the Express is a very desirable van for business or organizations that need a van that can perform well and carry a lot of people or materials.

The Chevrolet Express offers a four engine lineup that offers a great deal of power and capability all married to a six-speed automatic transmission. The base engine which is designed for lighter loads or people hauling is the 4.8-liter V8 engine which carries in 285 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine when mated to the transmission offers a fuel mileage of 11 city/17 hwy, but is limited in capacity and not the choice for those who need a greater hauling and cargo capability.

The second engine on the list is a 6.0-liter V8 engine that offers 329 horsepower and 373 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is ideal medium to heavy loads and only loses a very small amount of fuel mileage coming in with 11 city/16 hwy mpg, making it a great choice for any owner who doesn’t want to put in a diesel engine.

The third option is a variant on the 6.0 which is a 6.0-liter V8 CNG engine that operates completely on natural-gas. This power pack offers a bit of different power output showing up at 282 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque.

Finally, at the top end of the lineup and offering the most power is the 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine which shows up with 260 horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the best choice for those who know they are going to have to load this van down with heavy equipment or haul a large amount of heavy materials to the job site.

On the inside the Express shows that it is a vehicle made for work and takes that purpose seriously. The van is laden with plastic and vinyl covered surfaces which make it easy to clean and maintain while also being appropriate for the task at hand. When the cargo option is chosen, the area behind the two front seats is left completely to the needs and imagination of the owner to fill with the tools and equipment that are needed to get the job done. The passenger model adds seating for up to 15 people as well as rear air conditioning, a navigation system and several other accessories that make the van more desirable to own.

On the outside the Express is highly recognizable and utilitarian. The shape of the vehicle is familiar to most and offers only rounded corners as the updating that has taken place of the many years in existence. With new colors that can be chosen from the Express can be had in more interesting looks than the plain white that is the case for most on the road today.

The base model of the Express is a very stripped down model making the van one that can almost be built from the ground up for any business. The cargo version doesn’t even come with a radio but does offer vinyl floors and seats, air conditioning and a step-in rear bumper. The Passenger van offers standard features that include carpeting, cloth seats, and a radio. All models are equipped with stability control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and airbags.

The optional features offered for the Express start with the upgrading of the engine across the lineup and move on to include a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, backup sensors, a backup camera and the most recent version of the GM OnStar system. This van is available in either the 2500 or 3500 series as well as two different body lengths to ensure anyone is able to enjoy the versatility of the different options that can be added to the Chevrolet Express.

Depending on the trim level chosen and equipment desired for the Express the pricing of this van offers a very large range. The starting point comes in around $29,000 making it an affordable option for any organization or business to own and enjoy. Heading up the chain to the top end will bring in a price over $50,000 when fully loaded and equipped, making it a highly versatile van to equip in many different ways. The Chevrolet Express has a proven track record to enjoy and has been a favorite choice for business professionals such as electricians, plumbers and a variety of other professionals for many years making it easier for these business to do their job without having to overspend on the van.
