Chevy Blazer

Chevy Blazer

If you think of the Chevrolet Blazer as a massive SUV that’s built on a truck platform and powered by a strong V8 engine, that’s the Blazer most of us remember.
The new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is something completely different. In fact, it’s likely the only thing that’s the same between the new and the old Blazer models is the name. This new model is a competent crossover SUV that has the features you want and the ability to take you wherever you need to go.

Powering the New Blazer

Even though the original Chevy Blazer wouldn’t have been powered by anything less than a V8, the new 2019 version has a pair of powertrains that make sense for you. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that gives you 193 horsepower and 188 lb.-ft. of torque while the upgraded version is a 3.6-liter V6 that offers you 308 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these engines are attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission to give you the drive you want and the option of AWD for the added control you want to enjoy.

Chevy Worked on Performance for the Blazer

The Chevrolet team put a set of cross-axis ball joins and a set of 44 mm wide tracks to give this car the lateral grip desired. The MacPherson front axle up front allows the Blazer to have the performance to match up with the Camaro, according to the Chevy team. There are some new school items that are included with a twin-clutch rear differential, the AWD system, and the benefits of torque vectoring. With this setup, nearly eighty percent of the torque can be pushed to the rear wheels and go to the outside to give the Blazer the desired grip.

Moving Inside the Blazer

The base model of the new Chevrolet Blazer will give you what you expect from Chevy, but if you move up to the Premier model, you’re going to receive leather upholstery, extra safety gear, chrome trim, and an excellent infotainment screen with navigation for the drive. You’ll also find the digital rearview mirror that can give you the look you want out the rear of this SUV to make sure you don’t run into something you don’t intend to when you’re backing up the Blazer.

Seating Makes a Difference from Chevrolet

In the past, if you chose a five-seat Chevrolet SUV, you had to choose the Chevy Trax or Equinox, both of which are nice to drive, but neither has the off-road prowess the Blazer is ready to bring you. The new Blazer is also built with room for five and gives you the cargo space that you want when you’re ready to head out on the roads and trails with the gear that you need to take along with you. These qualities make the Blazer a great choice for you and those who want to ride along with you.

Three Personalities for Your Drive from Chevrolet

The sporty feeling of the Chevrolet Blazer is offered in three distinct personalities to give you what you’re looking for. The RS is the sportiest of the three, the Blazer Premier offers you items that bring it close to luxury for the drive, and the basic Blazer is the least expensive to give you the performance that does the job when you need to spend less. With these three choices, will the Blazer become the crossover SUV that you choose for your daily drive when you’re ready to go shopping for your next model?

Answering the Call of the Blazer

Unless the SUV is one of the full-size models, most of the vehicles we see today that bring back a name we knew in the past don’t resemble the original model at all. The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is offered with excellent powertrains, a spacious cabin, great visibility, and the choices you want when you’re looking for the SUV that you want to drive. With some of the personality of the Camaro built in, the Blazer you choose can be the fun, active, and enticing SUV for you to have the drive you desire every day.
