Opening the Year the Right Way

The Detroit Auto Show officially named the North American International Auto Show, is the show that gives us the first look at the new models for the next year.
It’s certainly become an annual event and one that we can admire and enjoy as it gives us a look at what to expect for the next twelve months. This show will open on January 14 and give us a look at something new and interesting from nearly every major automaker in the world and some models that come from some of the smaller names as well.

Here are some of the things we expect to see at the Detroit Auto Show:
Acura – The luxury arm of Honda has confirmed a new 2019 RDX Prototype will make its appearance at this show, which has already been seen in teaser images that have been released. This new model will be the third generation of the RDX as it arrives in the 2019 model year and it should give us the most extensive redesign in over a decade for this SUV.
Audi – The newest model to make its way to this show wearing the four-ring emblem will be the new A7 Sportback that will allow us to see the new styling and impressive ride of a car that reaches up near the top of the market for this brand. We’ve seen the car before, but this will be the first public appearance for this car and it’s certainly something to look forward to.
BMW – There will be two new models offered at the Detroit Auto Show from this brand. We’ll see the new i8 Coupe and the brand new X2. There may not be any surprises with the new i8 Coupe because we’ve already seen the new Roadster version, but the X2 is going to be the smallest and most active crossover SUV we’ve ever seen from this brand.
Chevrolet – It’s time for a predictable reveal at this show with the new Silverado that will make its way across the stage. This truck was already shown offer at the Texas State Fair, but this show where be the location where the entire world will get a chance to see this truck. Right now, we don’t expect to see the new C8 mid-engine Corvette cross the stage.
Ford – It’s finally time for the Ford team to get back into the midsize pickup truck market with the new Ford Ranger. This truck is expected to be shown off in Detroit and rumors tell us there may even be a reveal of the Bullitt Mustang or the GT 500. Ford certainly can capture our attention with what they bring to the show for our driving pleasure.
Honda – This announcement came early for this brand when the word came out that Honda would bring us the newest model of the Insight to give us a new hybrid from this brand. This is a car that is being called a prototype, but all indications tell us the car that shows off in Detroit will also be the one we see come off the production line.
Hyundai – We know what’s coming from this brand, it’s the new Veloster. This is the most expected model from Hyundai in a while and will be the first model offered in the US as part of the new “N” sub-brand. This could become the sporty model we’ve wanted from this brand ever since this car came to the market and now it will enter its second generation.
Infiniti – While there aren’t any new production models from this brand expected at the show, we should get a look at the new Q Inspiration Concept, which should be a car that shows off the new design language that we’re going to find with this brand going forward. This is certainly an exciting model and will give us something to think about as the brand moves forward.
