In light of the Apollo missions, Ford has announced the Ford Mustang Apollo Edition to celebrate innovation and inspiration.
The U.S. Apollo spaceflight program has inspired a one of a kind 2015 Ford Mustang that will be donated and sold at a charity auction July 23rd at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This donation will benefit the youth EAA aviation programs which includes the young eagles. Unique Ford vehicles have raised over $3 million in EAA aviation youth programs which includes the Young Eagles.
The “out of this world” Mustang will include technology that is included in the 2015 fastback Ford Mustang GT. The 5.0 liter vehicle was transformed into the Apollo Edition Mustang, a truly unique and exciting vehicle that will yield a high return for the charity. This highly valued vehicle will excite enthusiasts and car collectors alike.
On the exterior, a one of a kind glossy pure white and pure black non-production paint scheme that gives the vehicle a creative connection with the NASA Apollo program. The Apollo Mustang Edition will feature a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, rocker moldings, and accent treatments. It will also feature LED underbody lighting to simulate atmospheric re-entry of the space shuttle.
There are also performance enhancements that were made on the Apollo Mustang Edition. The performance package includes Ford Performance supercharge and shifter, X pipe with side and rear exhaust, sport-tuned suspension, six-piston Brembo brakes, custom Forgiato 21-inch performance wheels, and it will deliver 627 horsepower and 540 ft lb of torque.
Inside the Apollo Edition, the cabin will feature exclusive interior details. This will include performance gauges, modified instrument cluster, unique sill plates, and embroidered seats, trim panels, and floor mats.
