It fairly obvious that Infiniti wanted to make sure their entry into the subcompact crossover SUV market would be one that was able to make a difference and show off some impressive qualities. In a collaboration with Daimler the QX30 for Infiniti was born and is brand new for the 2017 model year to give us the smallest SUV from this brand and one that will be an outstanding look and feel to the market to take on others in the market such as the BMW X1, Lexus NX200t and even the Mercedes-Benz GLA250 from which the architecture for the QX30 came.
For the most part the reason to buy a subcompact crossover SUV are the need to have something a little larger than a compact sedan, but not quite as big as a midsized crossover SUV. This QX30 is perfectly placed in the market to give you the comfort and capability you want and the driving dynamics that you enjoy. For 2017 this SUV is all new and is the entry level model in the market for Infiniti and its line of crossover SUV models. This vehicle gives you the styling, cabin and drive manners that are all Infiniti, even if it does share a platform with a rival.
When you step into this vehicle you’ll find that no two are exactly alike. Infiniti tailors the driving of each different model to give you the perfect ride for you. If you like a comfortable cruising ride in a FWD model you can have it. If you want the control and tighter steering of an AWD version that’s available to you in the QX30. This SUV offers you an excellent suspension that makes it easy to enjoy the Sport version and offer you the lightweight build that most associate with a sports car. The stance offers excellent ground clearance and the driving modes you can choose from are Eco, Comfort and Sport to give you the driving dynamics you want to enjoy.
One of the most impressive items you’ll find on this luxury vehicle is the price. At just a little under $31,000 the QX30 offers you a great place to start your luxury shopping from. Moving up to the Sport-spec version you will see a price that is much closer to $39,500 and adding some of the options to the list will have you looking $43,000 in the face. The AWD version starts around $39,000 with the top of that range costing you $45,500. This gives you a fantastic price range to find the QX30 that’s right for you.
For the prices listed, we should see what we’re going to get to enjoy driving. The base model comes with dual zone climate control, the Infiniti Touch infotainment system with a 7.0-inche touchscreen and a rearview camera. Moving to the Sport model you will have an improved suspension, upgraded seats, a navigation system, a Bose premium audio system, the Around View Monitor and a power moonroof all as standard features. The AWD version has its own chassis upgrades and adds Nappa leather to the interior for an upscale look and feel.
Most of the options you can choose from on the QX30 are model specific. The Base and Luxury models have not options for you to choose, the Premium adds a moonroof, navigation system, LED light, wood interior trim, roof rails, 19-inch wheels and a Technology package to the mix. The Gallery White Theme Package gives you White Nappa Leather and bespoke trim items to give you a great look. The Sport-spec options offer you leather upholstery, the LED light and Technology packages. For the AWD Premium you can add the same items as the FWD Premium but also choose the Café Teak interior trim group.
The Infiniti QX30 is a small SUV that makes full use of the engine offered. For all models the engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder that gives you 208 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and uses a start/stop system to improve the fuel efficiency. In FWD models the fuel mileage is 24 city/33 hwy mpg and its 21 city/20 hwy mpg for the AWD versions.
