The End of an Era for Acura

Acura has been the premium brand for Honda for nearly three decades and as such has had a long and storied history. For so many years the Civics and Accords of Honda had nearly interchangeable parts with the Integra from Acura, leading to many thefts of the HID headlights off Acura models to be put on Honda versions. Another similarity has always been the ease of turning one of the exciting machines into a great tuner car, the kind you see in the early Fast and Furious movies that look like they are a lot of fun to drive. Toyota Lights Up Yellowstone with Old Hybrid Batteries

Yellowstone Toyota Hybrid Batteries

Batteries on hybrid vehicles lose their ability to maintain a proper charge for powering a vehicle over time, but that doesn’t mean they are useless. The nickel metal hydride battery packs used in Toyota vehicles can be put to use for other purposes. One of those purposes is to keep Yellowstone National Park lit up with solar power stored in donated batteries.

208 of these batteries are currently being used at Yellowstone to act as offline power for their solar power grid. These batteries, which came from Camry hybrids, are plugged into the system. Toyota has been heading in this direction since 2014 when they started solidifying deals with Indy Power Systems, Sharp USA SolarWorld, Patriot Solar, National Park Service and Yellowstone Park Foundation. Year after year the BMW 3-Series was the sport sedan model others were trying to compete with and come anywhere near. Unfortunately, with recent advancement and hard work, the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac and Audi have brought us models that are just as good as the 3-Series and in some cases even better. With this stiff competition, the engineers of BMW went back to the drawing board to create a car that was even better than before and regain their step up on the competitors. Continue reading

How About Some Racing

McLaren P1 GTR

McLaren burst on the scene several years ago by having a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory on its first attempt at the highly touted race. The car driven was McLaren F1 and run by Lanzante Motorsport which has maintained a relationship with McLaren ever since. Now McLaren has its racing monster in the form of the P1 GTR that Lanzante has helped them produce, which is ultra-powerful and built for the racetrack. What seems like it could not be possible, is exactly what Lanzante and McLaren are working to make happen which is a racecar that is street legal for all of us to fully enjoy. Continue reading
