A European Sports Car Comparison

Alfa Romeo 4C

Taking a drive in either the Alfa Romeo 4C or Porsche Cayman offers a precisely controlled driving feeling that allows you to traverse the various road and elevation changes offered throughout the beautiful continent of Europe. The only thing missing from this drive comparison is a couple test drivers to run the cars, I would love to volunteer for this one and think you would too, but too bad for us the test drivers at Car and Driver have already taken care of business and found these two exciting luxury sports cars to be a lot of fun on the road and amazing to look at when done driving for the day.

The Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche Cayman are the middle of the road models from these highly regarded automakers, making it so you don’t have to have upwards of six zeros in your bank account to be able to afford one of these beauties. In a test that lasted over 650 miles the goal of finding which one of these two was the all-around better car seems like more of an excuse to drive them longer than anything else, but here is what was found. What Happens when You Drop a Land Rover Defender off at a Tuner Shop?

Land Rover Defender Ultimate RS

Even though the Land Rover Defender is the height of SUV performance off the road and gives owners everything they could want in order to enjoy an awesome off road adventure, but what if your Defender needs to be tuned for the urban environment without losing any of its off road ability? Enter in the Land Rover Defender Ultimate RS which is simply a crazy version of the already awesome SUV which has been tuned by the British tuning company called Urban Truck.

The extensive makeover that took place was to change the truck from the off road machine it already was ( the height of class and off road adventure) to a mean and lean Urban road prowler that could still handle the off road terrain. The first and most noticeable changes were the new black pain, wide tires, a new grill and new lights which were all in place to give the vehicle a more aggressive appearance and allow it to show off some muscle in a slick and attractive fashion. Other changes that were made to the Defender included adding special Bilstein dampers, a new anti-roll bar, sports springs and large Yokohama tires to wrap the 18-inch wheels in snug road hugging comfort. The Defender was also lowered by two inches which gives it a more planted look as if it was actually hugging onto the road.

Tundra Gives Toyota Full-Sized Power and Reliability

2015 Toyota Tundra Grey

Truck enthusiasts are a unique brand of people. Most have a loyalty to one particular brand regardless of what others have to offer. Knowing this when they started launching the Tundra, Toyota has gained a great deal of its own loyalty due mostly to the amazing reliability and resale value that is offered on all their vehicles. The Tundra shows up with some added sophistication over previous models, but still has powertrains that need some work in order to compete in the fuel mileage race. This does however offer shoppers the continued ability to enjoy the big powerful V8 engines offered, especially if the owner does not value fuel efficiency.

Even though this truck carries the Toyota badge, it has always been designed and built in America making it as much a domestic truck as the offerings from Ford, Dodge and GM. For 2015 the lineup drops the base V6 engine and keeps the two V8’s. A TRD Pro Off-Road model has been added for more capability when on trails and a storage tray can be found under the rear seats of double-cab models to add some great storage options.
