When most people think of a pickup truck, especially one with 3500 in the name they picture a big hulking machine capable of hauling anything at all or pulling a Sequoyah from its roots. What they don’t often picture is a truck loaded with classy comfort and style features that would simply rival luxury cars. For 2015, GMC put a much larger emphasis across its truck line on providing its hard working, blood and sweat dripping fan and owner base with a lot of comfort and driving pleasure once the long and hard workday was done.

The Sierra HD fits the bill nicely as a serious do-it-all kind of truck that has a ton of interior comfort to enjoy. Add to this the varying configurations an owner can choose from and there is certainly a Sierra in the lineup that will help to get the whole crew to the jobsite, or pull the big boat to the shore for a day of fun in the sun. New for 2015 are fully redesigned interiors and exteriors of the truck to keep with the smaller lineup as well as the addition of the CornerStep bumper and LED tail lights.

Driving the big Sierra 3500 HD offers a massive amount of power, but to go along with this power is the an excellent drive feeling. With a well-designed suspension this big truck leaves the road defects on the road and doesn’t send them crashing into the occupants of the cabin. The steering is very predictable and allows the truck to handle just about anything that can be thrown its way. The cabin is extremely quiet as well allowing on the desired noises to be heard inside the behemoth.

Two very powerful engines are offers for the GMC 3500HD starting with a 6.0-liter V8 engine that offers a very strong 360 horsepower and 397 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that when paired together this powertrain is capable of hauling very heavy loads anywhere an owner needs to take them.

The second and decidedly more powerful engine comes in the form of the Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine. This monster packs in the power with 380 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque to really be able to get the job done. This engine is put together with a six-speed Allison automatic transmission and is more than capable of hauling over 10,000 pounds up steep grades without even flinching.

One of the biggest changes for the Sierra for 2015 is the upgraded interior. This is where this truck shines even brighter offering outstanding features such as a leather steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a suspension package, perforated leather seats and aluminum trim across the instruments. All materials used in the Sierra have a mind for the hard working crowd that needs a great truck to ride home in after a long day on the jobsite. Anyone who has ever driven a GMC or any GM product will find all the controls are easy to find and utilize making this a great truck for anyone to step in and take a ride.

The big Sierra gained a generous amount of exterior updating as well. This gorgeous machine still carries the signature front chrome grill and bumper that just look powerful from the word go. The headlights have been updated and running lights are now very bright and easy to spot LEDs making this truck one that won’t be missed on the road at all. Add the Corner Step rear bumper and a raised hood and this truck has taken on a whole new persona. The big wheels are almost big rig inspire as massive as they are and add the final word in the argument of power for the Sierra.

The Sierra 3500 HD comes with some basic equipment at the base price, which is still a work truck. The base model offers antilock disc brakes, air conditioning and stability control. All models except the base are offered with an automatic locking rear differential and as the trim levels are increased the standard features include leather seats, steering wheel mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity and an electric assist heater for the Duramax equipped models. These features allow even the base models of the differing trim levels to be comfortable and easy to enjoy for the ride no matter where the destination may be.

The optional features for the Sierra include four-wheel drive, touch screen navigation, an EZ-Lift tailgate and a snow plow prep package. This is not to leave out the addition of the most luxurious trim level that can be offered on any GMC model in the form of the Denali trim that truly offers a lot of luxury features for any truck owner to enjoy.

At the base model work truck the GMC Sierra 3500 HD for 2015 can be had for a price as low as $35,740 while heading up the line all the way to the Denali trim will bring in a price that is well over $65,000 for this awesome truck. With a host of choices in between either of these prices the Sierra 3500 HD is a great truck that can be outfitted to make work much easier for the owner and really be equipped to take care of business.
